Building Connections is what Sandy Neville, LEED Accredited Professional, is thinking about when she approaches her work as a Green Building Consultant and a Green Coach, it is also the name of her eco-focused business. She sees her job as guiding her clients as they make the connection between human health; the environment; and the way the buildings are being built and maintained. This is a process that starts at a different point for each client. Meeting people and organizations 'where they are' is the key to the success of her business.
Since each job is unique, early in the project Sandy spends time with the client listening to what their goals are and how they envision meeting those goals. From there they determine together what the best working relationship will be. As they move through the project together the client is often surprised at how much 'green' can be achieved early on and end up moving on to higher levels of environmental stewardship.
Sandy adopted the title of 'Green Coach' when she realized that in some situations, 'Green Building Consultant' or 'LEED Accredited Professional' were deterring her potential audience of homeowners, renters, business owners, etc. who don't have a remodeling or building project in mind, but want to know how they can implement green purchasing policies, green cleaning practices, and just generally 'green' their everyday lives.

Proposals for funding of green/high performance buildings
Southern Maryland Higher Education Center, California, Maryland
"Sandy Neville was hired to provide professional guidance in developing an assessment of green design and construction approaches for the development of a proposal for a new graduate university classroom building on the Center's campus. Her expert advice and thoughtful recommendations helped the Center easily navigate through some very difficult technical decisions. From undertaking a thorough assessment of what was possible to scripting specific descriptions of green design and construction recommendations, Sandy delivered exactly what she promised, when she promised, within budget. The Center could not be more pleased by our decision to work with Sandy."Mel Powell
